Licensed Real Estate File Manager & Sales Representative (Kingston, Ontario)

Gordon’s Downsizing & Estate Services is excited to offer an opportunity to join our professional team delivering an exceptional level real estate service to our clients.  As a key member of our client engagement team, you will play a central role in working closely with our clients who have entrusted Gordon’s Downsizing & Estate Services with the often overwhelming process of transitioning to the next phase of their lives, be it downsizing or settling an estate, including the sale of their current property. Our client make-up and demographic naturally have a clear willingness and/or personal mandate to move on. 

As a Real Estate File manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of managing the relationship with our client – from an initial meeting where you will get to know our client,  understanding their goals, objectives and unique attributes of their property, to preparing a comprehensive, industry-leading buyer information package, providing trusted advice on pricing and preparing the property for sale, managing a comprehensive sales process, responding to inquiries from prospective buyers, managing the offer presentation process, and supporting the client through to closing. 

As a Real Estate Sales Representative, in addition to your role as a File Manager,  you will have the ability to earn commission from your personal sphere of influence, leads provided to you by Gordon’s Downsizing & Estate Services and leads generated through your file management role. Commissions may be earned through Buyer and Seller agency relationships, but always following the Gordon’s Downsizing & Estate Services standard of practice.    

Gordon’s Downsizing & Estate Services will support your success with targeted one on one  training and will provide you with client assignments as your schedule and demonstrated performance permits, eliminating the need for you to engage in the expensive and time-consuming process of prospecting for seller listings and allowing you to focus on delivering the highest level of service to Gordon’s Downsizing & Estate Services clients. 

As a natural result of serving our clients at the highest level, other buyer and seller prospects will naturally be attracted to you. You will be able to convert these prospects to buyer agency and seller agency relationships. This will allow you to earn additional income on these opportunities without incurring expenses. 

Your compensation will be commensurate with your experience and qualifications and will include a performance-based component. Your ability to generate buyer and seller leads resulting from your natural day to day file management duties and earning “commission” from such, is limited only by your willingness to follow them through.

  • Willing to learn and consistently follow our industry-leading processes and standards for listing preparation, client engagement and buyer engagement.
  • Able to identify and assess unique selling attributes of a property and identify any issues to be addressed prior to listing.
  • Able to use a variety of computer software packages and templates including MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe PDF, Webforms / offer forms, Paragon
  • Confidence to provide listing price recommendations to clients and educate them as to how your price recommendation was arrived at.
  • Able to respond in a timely and effective way to client questions and concerns and inquiries and showing requests from prospective buyers and their agents.
  • Able to manage a well-considered and open offer presentation process, including multiple offers scenarios and managing closing tasks.
  • Able to work with the Gordon’s Downsizing & Estate Services team of real estate professionals, downsizing & estate settlement experts, and administrative support professionals who support your success.
  • Willingness to contribute to continuous improvement of our processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A valid Salesperson or Broker license under the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act 2002
  • 2 years of real estate sales experience is preferred, however exceptional recently-licensed individuals will be considered under a mentoring program.
  • Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Flexibility in personal schedule and ability to respond to inquiries and attend client visits outside traditional business hours as required.
  • Satisfactory background checks.
