What is the Opportunity?
Gordon’s provides peace of mind through our one-stop-shop real estate solutions for downsizers, estate trustees, and powers of attorneys. Presently, we are looking for a full time Bookkeeper.
Reporting to our part time Financial Controller, you will work closely with the other admin team members and also with the Real Estate Services team, to ensure our clients have a high-quality Gordon’s experience. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of finance within the Company. You may also be asked on rare occasions to step in and assist with on-site support from the Real Estate Services team.
What will you do?
Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable
Preparing preliminary and final statements of account for client files
Assisting with customer financial inquiries
Fielding incoming telephone and email inquiries from existing clients related to their file (project costs)
Supporting our partners (such as law firms, etc.) with streamlining the handoff of financial information as part of the client’s journey
Creating / editing documentation related to bookkeeper processes (to be built as you train)
Providing support and assistance to the Financial Controller related to:
Payroll processing
Project and corporate financial analysis and reporting
Meeting our financial obligations to the government
Other administrative tasks as required
Additional duties as experience increases and company growth requires

Able to both follow a process as well as lead in the improvement of one
Comfortable with the idea of helping Seniors downsize or supporting executors with estate settlement at a difficult time in people’s lives
Willing to jump into and experience new tasks that support our team and client as well as figure out how to improve or automate old processes to support scaling as we grow

Base annual salary based on $22/hr - $25/hr based on experience
Additional compensation via our team bonus pool
What do you need to succeed?
Must Haves:
Minimum post-secondary degree or certificate in accounting OR professional bookkeeping experience
Ability to provide regular hours 5 days a week (8:30am - 5:00pm)
The ability to satisfactory pass a background check
The ability to work in-office
Bookkeeper certifications
Comfortable learning and adapting to new software, processes, etc. as we evolve
Nice to Haves:
3-5 years of previous experience working in a fast-paced office or service industry environment.
Professional and hands on experience with Quickbooks
Knowledge of software platforms such as G-Suite, Trello, Zoom, Docusign
