In 1958, Fred and Mary Gordon founded an auction company serving Southeastern Ontario. In 1986, Barry and Alicia Gordon bought the family business, combining auctioneering and appraisals with licensed real estate expertise. Working alongside Manson Slik, a realtor with a family background in real estate, and Cathy Gordon – a transition specialist (and Barry’s sister-in-law), they developed an approach that brought real estate and transition services together into a single, coordinated process.
In 2022, Adam Gordon joined Gordons in a leadership role. After his term of service in the Canadian Armed Forces, he helped the family grow and spin off the auction division, now known as MaxSold Inc. Today, he continues to lead Gordons alongside his family, building on its history with a focus on structure, process and continuity.
