Probate Tax Calculator

Estate Administration Tax in Ontario is currently charged at $0 on the first $50,000 of estate value, and $15 per $1,000 (or part thereof) on the value above $50,000. For a $1 million estate, that’s roughly $14,250 owed before any distribution to beneficiaries.

The calculator below uses Ontario’s current rates and applies them to the total estate value you enter, including real estate, investments, vehicles, and personal property net of debts secured against the deceased’s home. Results are an estimate only and don’t replace advice from your lawyer or accountant.
